HOOD & APP ARE PUT ON THE MAP!

Market Buzz: Robinhood, AppLovin & EchoStar Are Making Waves! 🌊💥

What’s Going On?

  • Robinhood (HOOD) and AppLovin (APP) got the golden ticket—they’re joining the S&P 500 index on September 22, 2025, sparking big stock gains today. Robinhood shot up around +8%, AppLovin around +9% in pre-market action.

  • EchoStar (SATS) hit the jackpot too! It’s selling about $17 billion worth of wireless spectrum to SpaceX, half in cash, half in SpaceX stock—and SpaceX will also cover $2 billion of EchoStar’s interest payments through late 2027. Shares surged ~+20%.

Stocks Breakdown — From Best to “Not as Hot” (but still cool):

  1. EchoStar (SATS) — Best Deal

  • Why it’s awesome: Spectrum sale strengthens Starlink, gives Boost Mobile better service features, and frees EchoStar from FCC pressure.

  • Stock move: Skyrocketed ~20-21%.

  • Past performance: Up nearly 195% YTD, blowing way past S&P’s ~10% gain.

  • Fundamentals (2025 Q2):

    • Revenue: $3.725 billion (missed expectations of $3.829B)

    • Wireless adds: +212k subscribers vs estimates of 66k—huge win.

    • IBD Accumulation/Distribution Rating: B; Composite Score: 69/99, showing solid interest.

  • What analysts say: This spectrum deal is a big strategic win—EchoStar is now a telecom rival with a cleaner balance sheet.

  • Valuation/Technicals: Hard to say—no P/E etc in articles. But given the surge, traders are bullish short and likely mid-term; longer term depends on how they use cash and debt.

  • Famous holders: Mostly institutions and founder-controlled Ergen family, but no public big name quoted in these articles.

  1. Robinhood (HOOD)

  • Why it’s popping: Joining the S&P 500 gives it access to index funds and credibility boost.

  • Stock move: Around +8% in pre-market.

  • Past performance: Up ~171.7% YTD, way above industry average (+22%).

  • Valuation & analyst views:

    • Price-to-tangible-book (P/TB): 12.28× vs industry 2.86×—super stretched.

    • Zacks Consensus EPS growth: +42.2% (2025) and +20.8% (2026); Zacks Rank = Strong Buy (#1).

  • Bull/bear view: Short-term bulls love the S&P entry. Mid-term? Depends if earnings keep delivering. Long-term? The valuation is high, so risk of pullback if growth slows.

  • Famous holders: Likely major ETFs (since it’ll enter S&P), and institutional investors. No specific names in sources.

  1. AppLovin (APP)

  • Why it’s rising: Also joining the S&P 500 on Sept 22—same inflow boost.

  • Stock move: Up ~+9% in pre-market.

  • Business notes: A mobile advertising & analytics platform; recently sold off its mobile games unit for $900M and proposed a TikTok US bid; valued at $123B in July 2025.

  • Fundamentals: No exact P/E, EPS, margins, etc. in these articles.

  • Analyst buzz: Inclusion seen as validation of its business shifting pure ad-tech—likely bullish short term.

  • Trend view: Bullish short, medium term depends on ad market and strategy execution. Valuation unknown, so long-term risk unknown.

TL;DR (Let’s Keep It Simple)

• EchoStar: Rockstar move—selling spectrum to SpaceX → big cash, potential debt cleanup. Stock is firing on all cylinders.

• Robinhood: S&P entry = hype train. Growth solid but valuation stretched—so ride it, but keep an eye on profits.

• AppLovin: Also joining S&P; tech/business is cool, but we need numbers to tell how far it can go.
